“Here Comes The Flu!”

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

America is still living in a decade of pain.  Since 2000, America has faced one disaster after another.  We have fought 2 wars, faced the ravages of nature, a financial melt-down and now the flu!

Does anyone wonder what God may be telling us?  We continue to journey on a road away from truth.  Can a nation continue on this course?  History and the Bible points us to this unshakable fact.  No nation has ever survived without God.

Regardless of the age that we live in or the affluence we gain, without God in the middle of life, it is all an exercise of futility.  Solomon said it all:  ‘life is all vanity of vanities’ without God.

Will America wake up before the foundation is destroyed?

‘God’s Word Cannot Fail!’

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

As I watched Madoff (He took 50-75 billion dollars from investors) go into the court house today…..I thought this must be like Judgment Day for unbelievers.  There he stands before the very people he hurt and also before the Judge.  Can anything be more unnerving as that scene?

As his case preceded, he waited for the moment when the judge would speak.  In the final roundup, he was sent off to jail for the rest of his life on this earth.  Could the wealth have been worth this?

What will be be like to see your life turned to ashes before your very eyes and then to hear the judge say:  ‘I never knew you!’.  Madoff is an example of the truth of God’s Word.  “Be Sure Your Sins Will Find You Out!”.

‘Is America About to Meet God?’

Monday, March 9th, 2009

The news services are carrying a prediction by famed pastor David Wilkerson.  He says that the Holy Spirit has spoken to him and revealed that America is about to be hit by a catastrophe of Biblical proportions.

David is the author of the book: ‘The Cross and the Switchblade’.  He is well known for his work among New York teens in the ’60’s & ’70’s.  In a statement released on Sunday (3/8/09), Wilkerson encourages people to stock food and other necessaries for 30 days in order to be prepared for this event.

Wilkerson is not a ‘false prophet’ or ‘a wild voice’ coming from a religious wilderness.  He is a very respected preacher and author around the world.  We need to pay close attention to this message.

“What will you leave behind?”

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Three events happened this week.  Paul Harvey died, James Dobson stepped down from ‘Focus On The Family’, and Barbara Roberts turned 50.

Roberts was the inspiration for the ‘Barbie Doll’!  That was 50 years ago!  Million of young girls have build their lives on the ‘idea model’ of this imaginary person.  How many women are trying to live the ‘idea’ life because that’s what Barbie represented?

‘Barbie’ represents what which could never be achieved.  Trying to use outward beauty to find happiness is a useless effort.  The Bible calls on women to develop the ‘inward beauty’ that the Spirit of God can bring.

Paul Harvey and James Dobson leaves us with a more solid foundation of truth and responsibility.  What will you leave behind when you go the meet the Lord or step down from places of responsibility?

“Do you believe the world will end in your lifetime?”

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

According to Lifeway Publishing…only 11% of Americans believe that the world will end in their lifetime.  Americans are an optimistic people by nature.  We can hardly believe that the ‘world will end’ anytime soon.

Yet, the Bible is very clear that at any moment, ‘the sound of the trumpet’ will fill the air and the dead in Christ will rise to meet their Lord! The living saints will be ‘changed’ in a ‘twinkle of an eye’.   That won’t end the world, but it will be the beginning of the end.

Whether the world ends today or 10,000 years from today is not the question….the question is: ‘are you ready’ to meet the Lord?  We may not know the day or the hour…but we do know the ’season’.  Just as the fruit of a tree says ’summer’….the signs all point to the soon return of our Lord and Savior.

God doesn’t operate on surveys….He works by His own plan……..

“The Supply is Missing!”

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

It seems that HOPE is missing!  A lady called today and asked:  ‘Preacher, where is HOPE?’  It seemed, a least for her, that HOPE has vanished.  One of the OT prophets met a lady who had lost hope.  She fully expected that she and her son would soon die.  But, when she gave some of her supply to the ‘preacher’, she found every morning a fresh barrel of meal!

So it is with HOPE.  If you reach out to those in need, HOPE springs forth like a bubbling spring!  The ‘woman’ at the well in the NT gave water and she found a clear, sparkling well of water in her soul!

We are in a period of needing HOPE in America.  The believers in this nation need to give out of their supply and ask God to grant HOPE and HEALING to the land.  Never has the opportunity been greater nor cry for help more compelling.

Where is HOPE?  Where it has always been…..at the Cross of our Lord and Savior.  On that day, HOPE sprang forth with such a ‘fury’ that 2000 years later, it continues to call all men to it refreshing supply.

‘What’s Your View?’

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

As we begin a new year, we have a certain view that has accumulated in our lives through many years.  Man has two views to consider….the World’s view or the Bible’s view.  There is a battle of monumental proportions that is reaching a ‘fever’ pitch around the world and especially in the United States.

Whose view will this nation choose? The Bible has warned us that ‘in the last days’ the battle for truth would move to center stage.  We are now there.

Churches and Believers are now faced with a ‘wave’ of insults and anger for standing up for truth!  It is imperative that we prepare the next generation to take a firm stand for the Bible View of the world and life.  They will face a world of hostility, to the gospel message, unlike anything we  have seen to this point.

Are we discouraged by it all? No!  All of this leads us to a time when our Lord and Savior returns to earth and sets up His eternal Kingdom!  The darkness, actually, underscores what Jesus told us about future events.  Once again, the Bible has given us the truth.
