The Need for Revival

Friday, June 4th, 2010

As one looks around the nation, a startling revelation begins to cover you.  There is something very dark and and sinister covering the land.  We  are approaching a summer of unrelenting disaster.  The southern gulf and port are being covered by oil that keeps rushing out of the bottom of the ocean.

It all has a feeling of watching a movie.  Because it is unbelievable that such an event could occur in our times and with no way to stop it.   The part that is so unbelievable is that no plans were made for this event.  All logic would tell you that sooner or later an accident would occur.  Now we face a nightmare.

An entire way of life is going to be changed forever in the region.  Lives, hopes, dreams, all gone!  Yet, this only one of many shattering events that have occurred in the past 10 years.  Could any serious Bible student miss the connection between our abandoning God and these disasters?

What will it take to bring the nation back to reality.  This nation has recognized God, the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob as it’s God.  Our founding fathers understood that He and He alone, watched over the land.  When we decided that we would take that in our hands, our path was carved.

Only a REVIVAL from Heaven will heal this nation.  Pray for it and share your conviction with others.  If REVIVAL lingers, we will be facing a grave situation very shortly.

‘Remembering’

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

A very special group of people spent several years in a SS Class at Pink Ridge Baptist Church in the late ’60’s and into the early ’80’s.  This class was taught by Miss Flora Jefferies.

She devoted most of her life to reaching the kids of the community.  She singled handley had her own youth program!  I was one of those kids.

I remember the first time that a white Ford came down a dusty road and the door opened so I could go to church.  It was my first time.  I thought it was all just a ‘bunch’ of events……I now know it was the hand of God doing he guiding.

We will gather on August 22 and celebrate her life and pause to remember what a grand lady she was indeed!  The young people of the community will be looking for ‘Miss Flora’ when we get to Heaven.  We will have a lot of ‘Remembering’ and weeping to do because she led us to the gates of heaven.

This is a tribute to her and the ‘works that follow her’.  I look forward to clasping hands again in a land where all things are new!
