When dark clouds gather and you hear the rumble of thunder in the background…..you know that a storm is approaching.  Jesus told His followers once that they could discern the weather but not the time they were living in.

In A.D. 79 the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum could see the smoke rising and could hear the rumblings of the earth.  But they could not understand what was about to happen.  Suddenly Mt. Vesuvius errupted with such force that the entire population was killed while they were in their routine.

People were at the market, the rich were accumulating wealth, the slaves were toiling in the fields, and all of a sudden…..destruction.  Weeks before the explosion, the earth rumbled and shuck and the population could have escaped.  The smoke kept rising from the furnace of the mountain.  The population could not read the signs and flee!

This world is beset with all kinds of signs that tell us the judgment of God is coming…..yet most of our neighbors, co-workers, and family members can’t read the signs.  May God help us be a voice in the time we live to sound the warning.

The world is certainly changing fast!  On the international front, we are becoming more ‘global’ and the world is shrinking quickly.  There is a spirit afoot to bring the world together in one big ‘family’.  This event is not unlike the Tower of Babble in the OT.

But, there is a dark cloud that is decending on the earth’s population.  Man has always wanted to sin and move on without consequences.  God has a plan to reveal what sin can really do to the mind and heart of an unregenerated soul.

Soon the ‘darkest of darkness’ will rise from the earth to take control of the world.  Men will be looking for a cave or hole to hide from the face of the coming ‘King of Kings’.

Get ready!  The hour is approaching when God calls His church to meet Him!  Will you be in that number????   I pray so………

Time Magazine is doing a story this week on the ‘Christian Faith in America’ and how many people are abandoning it.  The article is a fair one.  It points out that the church in America has tried to legislate it’s beliefs in the culture.  It also points out that this approach does not work.  Jesus said that His kingdom was not of this world.

The Church MUST return to what it is called to accomplish.  We are to share the Word of God and do the good works of Him who has sent us.  In a world of unbelievable pain, suffering, and need, there is plenty of opportunity to serve and reach out a  helping hand.

Russia and China have both spoke for the side of a ‘one world’ currency.  In this time of great financial difficulty, the world is looking for answers.  This is a response to the searching.

We believers know that the world is coming upon a time of great suffering and pain.  We are now watching the ’stage-sitting’ before our very eyes!  The next few months and years should be exciting times of Bible readers. 

The ‘One-World’ movement will eventually bring forth the ‘man of sin’ who will rule the world, no so much with military might as he will with economic might.

I hope you are ready for the sound of the trumpet because our ‘redemption draweth near’.

It would seem that the problems that now face America is also a world problem.  When all the siuations are laid out before us, many are saying that it will take a world gov’t to solve the, seemingly, unending flood of events.

Long ago a Jewish Prophet foretold that a series of world governments would arise.  Daniel saw the Babylonians, the Persians, the Greeks, the Romans and a revived Roman empire that would all dominate the history of mankind.

Many voices are crying out today for a new world order and a world government to solve the major problems we face.  God’s Word is accurate to the letter.  A new world order is coming!  A World Government is coming!  Because God had already settled that in Heaven. 

Should the believer fear the future?  No!  The future is already set by the Word of God and secured by His name and promises.  We are to ‘occupy’ till He calls us home to himself.  While the world system is chasing answers, the believer has his eye on the Heavens and the soon return of our Lord.
